It looks like a painting. Did you stage the Red hat?

You capture the light so well I feel like I'm there in the room. However I would tone down the HDR just a tad overall and a bit more so in the reflections but otherwise superb.

Well... WOW ! This is just excellent. I am usually critical of over-cooked HDR effects, but honestly, here I think you
found just the right balance - especially if this image were to be shown at a larger size.

Out of interest, what editing process did you use to get this final effect? Really nice :)

A wonderful composition and use of side light and, of course, the red hat adds quite an element to the scene, whether staged or not. As to the somewhat strong hdr look, it is a matter of personal preference. While I do not use it like this and certainly never apply this much of what is referred to as "hdr" to a nature scene, I think in this case it looks fine for this old, man-made scene. It provides a feel, a mood, that, I assume, was intentional. I might have darkened a number of areas, or even most of the scene with the exception of the front of the bar with that wonderful play of light, shadow and geometry, thus adding some more drama or mood to the image (again, personal taste, no right or wrong at all).
