Took these tonight at Auto ISO, DR400, 1/15s and processed using X-Trans & LR6.........
If you're using RAW files what benefit does using DR400 give? Isn't that predominantly a JPG functionality, and will simply underexpose a RAW file by two stops and use a higher ISO, at least 800, to boot.
Two very nice shots, that XC 50-230mm is actually a very good lens in low light.
Where were these images taken?
As I understand, DR feature does not change exposure, which is dependent on f stop and shutter speed. What it does is that it will store the RAW image with one or two stops of lesser analog gain. I thought it will be a good idea to have the leeway in PP to decide how much gain to apply and where. I knew that at that lighting condition, XE2 will choose ISO 6400 by default.
You are right. I could have taken the shot at maybe ISO 800 as well and adjusted in PP. I somehow have a bias for ISO 6400 being used by XE2 because I think the in-camera noise reduction algorithm used by Fuji works so well at that ISO.
First one is a very famous Al Noor Mosque on Buheira Corniche in Sharjah. The second one is Al Taqwa Mosque in Al Majaz park, Buheira Corniche, Sharjah.
Thanks. Surprisingly good focussing in low light.
