From November 2017. Moody shots are more common in a moody climate :)

Fire about seven miles northwest of me this evening.
A bunch of aircraft have been fighting this one, both jets and helicopters.

Sadly an all too familiar sight in our part of the world too :( I hope they have managed to get
    that blaze under control.

When you say 'jets' have been used for fire fighting, I'd really like to know more about what
type of fixed wings are being employed in that role. Here we primarily use Huey's and
sometimes the Air Force Oryx are brought in as well and they use bambi buckets.

Of the fixed wings we have Drommedaris (which are often used for crop spraying as well)
that have large hoppers that can be filled with water.

The fire is under control as of this morning. I appreciate your concern!

I saw one jet that looked like a BAe 146, another type that wasn't close enough to identify, and a DC-10 (registration N17085, first flown in 1975 as Finnair OH-LHB). I got this pic of the DC-10 from my yard. See Please login or register to view links

Good HEAVENS! Gosh, I am impressed. By your photo from your yard and by all the information
and most of all by the fact that DC-10's are being put to this use.

This is what we see here: (Huey)

Sky over Scottsdale as we enter our Monsoon Season of high winds sometimes accompanied by torrential rain storms. We consider the red skies as a warning of what will come in a day or two.
