    They were affectionately referred to as "Crummy's" here in the US but there is nothing crummy about this caboose.

    This was in a church. I saw it and immediately thought of the Walker Evans photograph"Penny Picture Display, Savannah, Georgia, 1936".

    When working in the coastal logging camps of British Columbia in the 1950s we used to ride to the job site from camp in 4 wheel passenger vans called "crummies". Must be a term for worker transports such as the caboose etc..

    Wonderful shot BC. I'm sure it brings back many happy memories for you. It made me think of this photo I made in 1984 of my daughter running along the beach in Avalon, New Jersey. Scan from a slide. Youthful energy and joy.
