Did you build that? Or just a display you took a pic of? Just asking cause I'm one of those model building dorks! Not of late though!

Hovering above those about to enter Chicago Midway airport Concourse C. Many such examples of WWII airplanes are sitting at the bottom of Lake Michigan which due to it’s rough sea like attitudes, especially in the Fall and winter months which emulated the conditions the fleet might experience in rough seas, was used as a training area for those learning how to take off and land on flat deck aircraft carriers during WWII. A few of those planes have been recovered in recent times. In 1996 I had the opportunity to fly a Korean War era AT-6 sometimes called the Texan from Coolidge airport here in Arizona and fly it North toward Payson and back. Trying to impress me the co-pilot, who executed the take off and landing but otherwise kept his hand off the controls, said we are now cruising at 178mph, I had to burst his bubble by flying over the nearby GM proving grounds and tell him I had just driven a Corvette at 205mph a few days earlier at that facility.
Poor cell phone image grabbed as we were exiting the airport during one of our visits.

First photo post in awhile. :) Summertime stuff like this event took up a lot of time during June and July. Anyway, here's one from our local EAA chapter pancake breakfast and fly-in last month... one of the more interesting planes to show up, a T-28 Trojan. X-E2, XF18-55.

I envy people with skills to build a model like this. Sadly, it wasn't me.
It is in a glass case at the Air & Space Museum in Wash DC.

The local community would probably like to feature that serene image in some of it's public relations and advertising materials. Nice capture!

CW - Thanks for the complement. FYI, I've already had cyclist friends request and receive copies of the image. It is being well received in our local biking community. Definitely fun for me, a novice photographer.
