    Hi,
Is there any way of telling when a XT2 was manufactured? I was wondering if the Body serial no. was of any help?

You can do this with first two numbers/letters from the serial number.
    There you go:
    fujirumors(dot)com/simple-trick-will-show-fujifilm-camera-made/

    1st digit = Year:
    1 = 2011, 2 = 2012, …

    2st digit/letter = Quarter:
    I quarter = 1, 5, A, S, E, J, N
    II quarter = 2, 6, B, T, F, K, P
    III quarter = 3, 7, C, U, G, L, Q
    IV quarter = 4, 8, D, W, H, M, R

    Serial number 2Dxxxxxx
    Means 2012, IV quarter

So "63M....." on my X-T2 means 2016 but seems undecided on the quarter. Any ideas?

I would speculate this is 3rd quarter

I was wondering if it might indicate to which marketing area** it was initially shipped...with "3" for Europe
    ??

    EDIT...**and for camera warranty validity

    Charlie,
My Jessops UK bought X-T2 has a serial number starting 72. My previously owned Fuji cameras were
    X100S 32
    X-E2 42
    X-T1 42

So I'd think that what fzdp says is probably correct.

As I understand it, the first digit is the year, the second is the quarter and the letter is the batch

Only 26 batches in a year might be restrictive. I mention warranty area so the retailer/ repairer immediately knows if the camera (not lenses) is/was covered in the original selling price for their marketing area.

Yes, maybe batch wasn't the right word. I have a feeling that the letter refers to batches destined for Europe, USA etc. I have a vague memory of this being discussed a long time ago on here if anyone fancies a search.

I believe the exact date is in the internal serial number written to the EXIF metadata for every image.

According to internal serial my X-T3 was manufactured: 2018:08:25 and X-T2 was: 2017:02:26 - those dates seem about right.

Hi all, thanks for the response. I guess my camera is a 2017 model manufactured in 1V quarter. 7M being first part of serial.
