From the last few months. I'm more comfortable in the past six months using this lens including wide open (manual focus of course!) and processing the images. I've accepted the need to use a tripod more often :) which helps.

Mine is a decent lens when used carefully. It's not particularly constrasty, and will easily flare in direct sunlight. But above f/5.6 and with a high shutter speed, or stable tripod, it's pretty good. Especially for the weight and size.

To give you an idea, the frieze along the top of the Parthenon in the above image is very clear full size. Aperture around f/6.

I have the slimline LTM version. Which are you getting?

The same model, nice to have a slim adapter.
I've read about the flare issue on reviews so, do you use anything special for a lenshood, there are a lot of leica type ventilated hoods in silver, cheap on the bay ?
    It's the "chrome" finish one.

By coincidence, I have one in my Amazon basket to try out. Up til now I’ve used anything shady to hide behind, or my hand. Or embrace the flare as a feature!

Just thought, I have one on my Jupiter 8 that's the same size although it's black.
So I'll give that a try to see if it's deep enough.

Just unpacked it. Looks fine, a little dust but shouldn't affect images.
Quick trial - very pleased, and it focusses to infinity.

Looks good! Have fun with it and keep it permanently in the camera bag. 200mm equivalent is so convenient to have handy, especially for the weight and size.
